Interview with Clayton "Kazu Boy" Nohara * KB by Carrie MMAHawaii Reporter - Maui

MMAHawaii (Carrie): Its great to have you as my first interview and congrats on your win over Vive CostelloClayton

KB: Yeah Thanks. This is my first interview too.

MMAHawaii: How did you get the name "Kazu Boy"?

KB: My Dad is Kazuo Nohara so everybody back home calls me Baby Kazu from when I was young.

MMAHawaii: This was your first fight, tell me about the training that went into it.

KB: Well We're pretty limited for resources here on Lana'i so we kept it Underground you know, Down at the beach in the sand, running up in the mountain at high elevation. I did build a boxing ring in the back of my coach Eddie's yard so we did most of the grappling and technical work there.

MMAHawaii: Whats next for you?

Clayton Nohara, Clayton KB: Um, Take one day at a time, The weather is pretty messed up right now but as soon as the weather clears up maybe next week we're going back to training. I'm looking to get another fight hopefully like Feb. or Mar.

MMAHawaii: Do you have a manager? Who are your trainers?

KB: My Trainer is Eddie Urpinal from Lana'i and I also brought over Albert 'Always Bad' Manners from BJ Penn's acadamy to work with me like the last three weeks before the fight and now he's probably gonna be here full time.

MMAHawaii: So, if any promotions are looking for you, how would they get a hold of you?

KB: You can find me on Myspace.com/Bringdatunda
or call (808)565-6151

MMAHawaii: Anyone you’d like to thank?

KB: First off my mom for being so patient with me and watching my kids so I could train. Eddie and Uncle Tommy for bringing me and my kids into your home like family. Kainoa working my stand up. All the Lana'i boys that took time out to spare and grapple with me Ben Dios, Kimo, Mahina, Cheyenne, TJ, Ruel, Ben. And Albert and BJ for supporting me and all the guys I Rolled with at the Acadamy, Po'ai, My cousin Jay 'Xcalibur' Carter, Sergio, Roots, Tony. Anybody else that's helped my along this path.
