Aaaaawwwhhhh yeah, Man-up & Stand-up is back again and so is Laupahoehoe Muay Thai’s top student Derek Minn who is taking on one of O2s top students named Ola Lum handling the main event. Derek is one of the best muay thai fighters that you will find on the island. He has been up against some of the best on the show and suffered only one loss when it was American style. He also took on one of california’s best muay thai fighters in an event in Vegas and represented big time. It will be a strikefest without the knees and elbows though. Derek is well known for his brutal leg kicks. They cause major damage on the inside and outside but don’t count Ola out. Ola is a terror on the outside and a beast on the inside with his body shots. And oh my gosh, when he starts headhunting. He will have Derek wanting to fire his shots from the outside. Or will he? Be there on Sep. 2 and find out.
Also, one of Hawaii’s kickboxing legends, Tony “The Tiger” Rodriguez will be going up against 130 lbs. champion Evan Quizon. Evan won this title, then lost it and owns it once more by defeating Dennis Montira with his precise timing. Evan has never took up boxing but pleez beleev, he will have you fooled. Evan has some lightning fast hands and when lightning strikes, someone may have to be rushed to the hospital, heehee. He has the height advantage over Tony but as for experience, it easily goes to Tony. He has been in the ring lighting braddahs up since the Dennis Alexio days at the blaisedell (the 90’s) when he was only 6 years old so you know the skills will be in effect. He has major power with both hands. Not to forget his animal body shots heehee. They will be banging with leg kicks, knees and 10 oz gloves. The fire power will be insane in this match so make sure that you have your seat belts on when the bell rings for this match.
And don’t forget, Isaac Hopps makes his first title defense against Muay Thai fighter Cory Estrad. Das right, Isaac faces another Muay Thai fighter once again. The last time Isaac crossed paths with a Thai fighter, the results to Isaac’s leg was severe which had the referee bringing the fight to a hault. Cory fights the same way but hasn’t been around as long as Isaac’s last Thai opponent but he has his sights on the title. These Muay Thai fighters seem to feel no pain when they get banged up on their shin and body. So is Isaacs aim be on Cory’s chin because we all know cory’s aim is on Isaac’s belt. Will this match be about chin checking or shin checking? One thing for sure both fighters will be focused on opponent wrecking. DAS RIGHT
