man-up--stand-up-2011-championships

Dec 10 is almost here and braddahs gonna get light up.  Honolulu city lights ain’t got nothing on Man-up & Stand-up.  Das right, if you have been keeping up with the write ups on this event, then you know wassup this Saturday.  Kickboxing at its finest at the Filcom for the end of the year show which is usually called the championship show due to the fact that Man-up & Stand-up goes all out to give back to all of the fighters that did outstanding throughout the year.  There’s even champions from last year that will face fighters that have flawless records this year.

One of those flawless records this year that will meet one of Man-up & Stand-up’s champion is Walter Walker who first started fighting in the late 90’s when he was 16, took a 10 year break and decided to start all over again.  Which led him to this opportunity to bang with the man that has only 3 losses who goes by the name of Justin Dulay. Those 3 losses were to champions only and one of those champions, Dulay met once again on the first event this year and redeemed himself which was one of the best toe-to-toe / blow-for-blow battles this year.  Dulay may hold only one belt but looks forward on having an early Christmas present wrapped around his waist shining brighter than the star on his Christmas tree.  Walker has his own plans for the belt and believes that the only star that Dulay is gonna see is the one standing in the opposite corner of him.  In this match, there will be more than one star that these two guys will see and it will be floating around their heads in a circle.  Its show time baby.

Another star-studded match will be the Ben Boyce vs Damon Applebaum.  Ok, maybe scratch out the stud part.  Nah just kidding gang.  Anyways, this match will be set for the super heavyweight rookie of the year champion.  Boyce is the Hulk looking hamma that actually throws a major sledge hammer every time he swings.  He may be a freelance fighter but don’t take this heavyweight lightly just because he trains himself.  His only defeat came to the Man-up & Stand-up semi-pro champion when no one else wanted to take on Eric.  No one else has beaten Boyce and this is only his first year ever fighting.  As for Applebaum, he also has only one loss and one hell of a left hook.  He may not look like the Hulk as his opponent does but turns into one when the bell rings and wants to destroy anything standing in front of him.  Especially if they’re standing in front of the belt.  Come down to see if its better to look like the Hulk or just act like him.

Rob Connell will finally get his chance against Miller Ualesei.  Connell was furious when he found out that someone else was fighting Ualesei for the title on the last event.  But Connell’s training camp cancelled that match due to their own reasons.  December 10 will prove to everyone if he really had a good reason to be furious.  Ualesei and Connell met in an exhibition match earlier last year.  It was an exciting fight but this time, it’s a real match and Ualesei’s title is on the line.  Connell is the white boy that people underestimate until his hands and feet are in your face.  Theres not too much that any of his opponents can do once the bell rings because this guy is all over them like a hammer to a nail.  Just getting pounded.  But Ualesei is the calm and make his shots count kind of fighter.  Well, he had better make them count because Connell will bring it the same speed, the same power and with the same intensity until the referee comes in between them.  Ualesei has unreal power, that must be from the sole side, chee-hu.  His speed is really impressive too.  But will he be able to keep up with Connell’s pace or will he make his shots count another mark under the W column.  Find out who’s the hammer and who’s the nail in this match.  It’s cho-time pay pee

Don’t forget the cool and calm Tofi Mika going up against the intense Keoni Chang.  Mika is always the friendly easy going fighter that takes a lot to get on his bad side.  As for Chang, OMG, this kid looks like his gonna bust a blood vessel every time he fights.  He must get that from his coach, Intensity MacKenzie.  Chaz Kanae looks forward on bringing an upset to the skill crafted Isaac Hopps.  And Bryson Lum gets another shot at John Mendonsa after Lum got overwhelmed from Mendonsa in their first meeting.  This grudge match should be interesting for Mendonsa never had a belt around his waist and Lum is use to wearing his from last year.  It’s a new year so there will be a new belt.  You know how Man-up & Stand-up does it.  Das right

Happy holidays to you all and see you at the fights.
