READING IS VOLUNTARY.......
The night started early with a little action in the parking lot. One minor scuffle and also a lot of complaining by ticket holders due to waiting an hour longer for the doors to open. By 7:30pm the action began, I was given a program with 5 bouts listed on it and low and behold turn the paper over and the same 5 bouts were listed. A few quirks to work on, but the action was good, these are how the bouts went.
I LOVED THAT THIS EVENT HELPED ONE OF OUR SCHOOLS. I KNOW IT'S PROBABLY NOT EASY TO GET AN EVENT LIKE THIS AT ALOT OF SCHOOLS, BUT I FEEL THAT WE SHOULD HELP THE SCHOOLS AND NOT ALWAYS FANCY BALLROOMS.....

Thomas Rogers (Hammah House) v
Mike Uemoto (?)
Round 1 both fighters came out throwing. Uemoto had the crisper kicking while Rogers had the edge with the boxing. He came out more aggressive in the second while Uemoto took the third round.

Joe Simpliciano (Fighters Union) v
Maika Ige (Animal House)
Simpliciano went for a double leg take down, Ige managed to muscle out of it and get a little sprawl going. While Simpliciano still had his head down Ige went for a guillotine and was able to finish Simpliciano.
Ige by guillotine

Hugh Jones v
Marcus Moreno (Bullspen)
Both fighters came looking to prove something standing. They traded kicks for most of the round but ended the round in the clinch. In round 2 the fighters clinched, Jones backed Moreno up in a neutral corner and landed some body shots but Moreno was able to move the action to his corner. Lack of action and the action was reset. Jones able to take Moreno and land a few shots before the bell sounded. The fight ended in a draw but both corners were down for one more round. In the first part of the round they clinched and were reset twice, Jones landed a decent flurry to move Moreno back round comes to an end shortly after.
Moreno by decision
- I thought Jones did enough to win the fight.

Vinny Dela Santos (Maili Soljahs) v
Matt Comeau (MMAD)
Comeau took Dela Santos down and got full mount. Dela Santos tried holding on for the action to be reset, but eventually used his long legs and somewhat reversed Comeau. He tried for an ankle lock but Comeau got out and pounded Dela Santos out.
Comeauu by submission (Dela Santos seem to have hurt his shoulder)

Jay Bolos (Animal House) v
Mark Tajon (Bullspen)
Fight started oiut with both fighters trading, eventually Tajob picked up Bolos and slammed him to the canvas. Bolos then went for an armbar, after that it was submission attempt after submission attempt by both fighters. Tajon eventually got Bolos back and nearly sunk in a rear naked choke only for Bolos to be saved by the bell. In round 2 Boos came out with some wild throws and Tajon ducked them and went for a takedown where he found himself in full mount. Bolos reversed Tajon and worked to get side control, Tajon then reversed and mounted Bolos. Tajon got a body triangle on Bolos but Bolos protected well against the rear naked choke attempt and once again the bell rings.
Tajon by decision

David Balicao (Jesus is Lord) v
Chad Miguel (Bullspen)
Balicao came out with a nice left high kick that rocked Miguel. As Miguel doubled over Balicao jumped on him, Miguel immediately went for a takedown, but Balicao reversed it before it got to the grund. In full mount Balicao pounded away at Miguel and the ref stopped the fight.
Balicao by TKO (strikes)

Kainoa Souza (Team Devastation) v
John Farrell (Freelance)
Farrell came out striking, eventually they clinched. Farrell seem to have some type of wrestling background because Souza could not take him down. The fight resets and Ferrell knocks Souza down, he unloads some shots but Souza makes it to his feet. In round 2 they clinched but the action moved to Ferrell's corner, they traded some heavy blows but Souza prevailed.
Souza by KO

Shannon de Castro (Animal House) v
Ginalyn Ganaban (Freelance)
Flurry after flurry was thrown in this fight, I thought round 1 was pretty even, Ganaban edged round 2 and round 3 was even.
Draw (exhibition)
205
Pele Fonoti (Animal House) v
Andrew Setefano (94 Block)
Both fighters came out landing some kicks before Fonoti took the game to the ground. Fonoti did a great job controlling the action in Setefano's guard, eventuallt Fonoti was able to mount Setefano and land some heavy shots until the bell rang. In round 2 Setefano able to land some nice shots before Fonoti rushed him and took him down, Fonoti easily passes Setefano's guard and sinks in kimura.
Fonoti by submission (kimura)
- This guy has a nice ground game, someone to definitely watch in the 205lb division.

Brad Tavares (Universal Combat) v
Thomas Sodeno (Bullspen)
They decided to stand and bang for a few before Sodeno took Tavares down. The takedown ended up outside the ropes so the fight was reset. In the center of the ring they traded blow for blow and Sodeno ate a a huge left hand sending him to the canvas. Tavares jumped on Sodeno and landed a few more shots before being pulled off by the ref.
Tavares by TKO (strikes)

Devin Damo (Animal House) v
Duane Haney (Bullspen)
Fight started with some trading of kicks then went to the ground. Damo attempted a guillotine Haney gets out and the fight is back standing. Damo picks Haney up and slams him but Haney able to sink in his own guillotine.
Haney by submission (guillotine)
- as everyone knows, I am not a fan of rematches in such a short time. This is exactly why, not so much it was the same result with Haney coming out the winner. It was more that the fight looked exactly like the first fight. I think this fight would/could have been better had the rematch been later this year.
