So you think you know mma? Prove it! I will be rolling out a new fantasy mma site in the next couple of weeks. I need help in testing the database so I am offering a pair of free tickets to the Sept. 15th ICON event for the person who has the highest score in my test run. The site is not complete, but I would like to test it out.

Entries must be submitted before 4:00PM Hawaii time on 07/07

Here is how to play.

Go to the site
http://myfantasymma.com

sign-up

Go to the current games tab and click on UFC 73

Make your selections for each fight.

You will receive points based on the number of correct answers you have. Correctly select the winner of a fight and receive 10 points. If you correctly select the winner, you will also be elibible for bonus points (5 points for method of victory, 5 points for round of victory, and 3 points if you get all three correct).

On the bottom of the event page there are two buttons, "enter for free" and "register my entry," just select the enter for free button, the registered users page is still under construction.

Hi Greg; do you own this site? Is it like a bet or parley site...kind of like football parleys?

This looks interesting. I see UFC, Pride, WEC, IFL and Icon at the bottom of the home page. Any association with the site?

Yes, I am the owner of the myfantasymma site. The site has nothing to do with parleys or gambling, it is simply a game that tests the players skill in predicting the outcome of mma events.

This UFC 73 event is just a test run to see if everything is working correctly. Help me out and test it and if you have the highest score you will win 2 tickets to the Sept. ICON event.

When the site if fully launched, I will have a game for all the major mma events (UFC, Pride, IFL, WEC, etc...)

I'll keep everyone posted as to the progress of the site and when the official launch date will be.

Howzit Greg, I was just checking it out but I noticed that the sign up page (not registration page) was not secured. I don't want to put my info and it can be read by others while in transit. Also another option you can offer is an Online Name (alias) for us to use. Food for thought. Great idea you got.

I just registered and it looks pretty cool. I just don't understand it. People will play to win tickets to icon...and what do you get out of it?

How about you add a photo gallery with some of your work? ...or maybe a blogg to discuss the fights? You're pretty knowledgeable and I think people would love it.

The sign-up page is not secured because you are not asked for any sensitive information. The registration page is run by paypal and is secured.

The online name (alias) is a good idea that I should have thought about from the very beginning. I will probably try and see if I can have the developers work on this.

This is just a test run to make sure that the database is working correctly. When the site launches, there will be two sets of users, free and registered. The registered users will have to pay $5.99/month. Both free and registered users can play the game, the difference is that the registered users will be able to win much larger prizes and they will have more benefits. I am thinking of doing cash prizes of $500/event for the registered users.

Here are some of the benefits that the registered users will receive:
Discounts at various online retailers
Access to fighter blogs
Access to photo gallery
Access to expert/insider fight selections.
And of course, larger prizes.

I will be coninually adding to the bennefits of the registered users. Please feel free to email me (myfantasymma@yahoo.com) if you have any other ideas.

To all who signed up and made their selections on the myfantasymma site.

Please log in and make sure that your selctions are still there. This morning when I logged in, my selections were reset as if I had not made my selections yet.

Just log into your acct, click on the current games tab, then UFC 73. Go to view my selections to see your current selections click on the edit my selections to edit.

Sorry if this gets messsed up, but thats what a test if for right?

Now, that sounds a lot more interesting. I guess what I like best about the whole idea is that it's innovative and no one has done this before...or at least no one I know of.

Ok, the picks for UFC 73 have been locked. If you entered you will have an excellent chance of winning those ICON tickets, it looks like only about 10 people have entered.
