VIP section maybe, i'll ask him if he's interested in stopping by the event. I know theres a dinner set up for him on Saturday the 20th with Brain Viloria and a few named Filipino boxers. Who knows maybe they all may roll through the X-1 event.

Timothy is from the Big Island. One of the toughest 135lb fighters on the Big Island. He fought for X-1 in Kona a couple of times. Russel is an animal and I was told he has a hard time finding matches.

We are coming STRONG and FAST and wont stop till the year has ended. The talent pool is stacked and there will be no "tune up matches." You have no idea whats about to hit the islands regarding how we do quality MMA Shows in Hawaii. TITLE Matches is happening all year long. 4 man tournaments to determine # 1 contender will be coming in Heavyweights, Light heavyweights, lightweights, featherweights and State Title bouts. The next card is almost completed. Once i get the contracts signed i'll let everyone know the card.

this is my reason russel is not fighting for the title. At the time we put this show together i was told his record was 2and1. i was also told by his camp that he has not fought in 2 years, all matches he was scheduled for, the opponents had pulled out over a 2 year period. I was asked to get him on the Scuffle on Schofield in Nov. but it was last minute. Russel has never fought for X-1. There is no affiliation with him and us. So why should we use him on our show? Thats the facts. But here is the kicker to why he is on the show.
I know his step father. He works at the Gym that we held the fights at on Schofield and is a good friend of my dads. Thats plus # 1. Next, Kim Jhun, who asked to use Russel on the Schofield card asked if we could use him on this card at the time we was confirming Harris to fight Richie Whitson. So remembering she was trying hard to get Russel a fight I made it happen because of her persistency and our relationship. Honestly, I never saw him fight until this past Friday night vs the guy from Guam.
This is how he got on the card. Russels match with Meeks is for the X-1 135lb State Title.

Matches have to make sense. That is what everyone needs to realize. Why should we spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on a match that does nothing to put people in the seats. Story lines that can create match ups which draw fans to the event has a big part. And taking care of those fighters who have been with X-1 during the building stages of their career is most important. This makes sense to us.
We might not make money at this event, but if we can break even, we know that we can continue to build on future events. At the same time, it's a door that is opening for some and closing for others. Do we need it? Is it worth it? Does it make sense?

would love to come back to Maui but there seems to be a lot of resistance from people who make decisions for that venue. the red tape and the bull that we have to go through to do a show there is not the same standard for other mma shows. wish we could.
Wonder who benefits from us not coming back to Maui? Even our announcer got assaulted in the parking lot by a bunch of guys saying" honolulu guys need to stay in honolulu," before they attacked him. He was suppose to stay overnight but went straight to the airport to catch the next flight home. Not a reflection of Maui but just of "haters."
