The Big Boys Toys and MMA Hawaii Expo kicked off this past weekend at the Blaisdell and thousands came out in support. The entire weekend consisted of top level events targeted at numerous different fan bases who all came together in one giant monster expo. As soon as I stepped into the Expo for the first time, I knew that this was going to be an unforgettable weekend.
On day one it was all about the Pac Sub in the morning. The first major crowd was fixated on the grappling competition for hours. As the areas from booth to booth began to fill, it was clear that this weekend was going to be very fun.
The diverse vendors provided a variety things for the fans to see and experience. I was captivated by the demo for UFC Undisputed 2010 from the first time I saw it. Doc and I played a couple games while making our rounds and I must say that Best Buy did a great job with the setup. The big screens and 360’s were fun for everyone. There were also many different local clothing booths scattered around the exhibition hall. I noticed a few new clothing lines that were being debuted at the Expo. Really great to see the local businesses coming together to give the public a good product and a good time.
The contests and awards were awesome as well. A new Miss MMA Hawaii was crowned and the local fighters received awards for all of their hard work. The Award Results are as follows:
Fighter of the Year Sale Sproat
Promising Fighter of the Year Sale Sproat
Comback Fighter of the Year Danny Lopez

Both Legacy Combat MMA (PHOTOS) and Destiny Entertainment "Fury" (PHOTOS) were absolutely amazing. The really continue to supply Hawaii with an outlet for the local fighters to break into. It was good to see a new crowd at the fights witnessing the future of the sport here in Hawaii. Champions were crowned and Champions retained their titles as well. And exciting weekend to be an MMA fan. Especially when Rashad Evans dropped by to sign autographs and take pictures with the fans in Hawaii. And I can personally say that Rashad appreciated seeing each and every one of his fans.
The dog show and car show drew a big crowd as well. All of the bikes and cars blew my mind. The painball was a twist in the right direction as well. There was just so much to do and see.
Thank you to all who came out in support and to all those who participated in the Expo. I think we can all agree that this was a huge success and we all look forward to something similar in the future.
