Thompson, Chou, and ProElite team up for new MMA promotion to debut August 27 in Hawaii E-mail
Local MMA News

Story By: King Eddie- MMA Hawaii Staff Reporter

TJThompson_600ProElite, former partner company of EliteXC, has announced it’s return to the world of MMA promotion. Stratus Media Group, new owners of the organization, has officially announced that it will begin with it’s first event on August 27th, here in Hawaii. It has been reported that this event will take place in Honolulu, at the Neil Blaisdell Center.

According to MMAfighting.com:

“In recent months, rumors of a revival swirled, proven true by the Stratus Media Group purchase. Reportedly, ProElite was one of the bidders when Strikeforce went up for sale in late 2010. The company recently hired former Strikeforce matchmaker Rich Chou and former ICON owner T.J. Thompson as executives. The promotion said it plans to announce fighter signings and matchups for the August 27 event in the near future.”

There is no clear information on the fight card itself, though rumors have certainly circulated. We will release the information as it is confirmed. As more developments unfold, stay logged in to MMAhawaii.com for the latest updates.
