Jay Carter is a man on the comeback trail. After stepping away from fighting , over three years ago, to start a family, Carter is back with a passion. His drive and resolve to come back strong are solidified and apparent in his calm demeanor. As he prepares for his fight on August 27th for Toughman Hawaii in Hilo, he considers all possibilities and hopes that giving his best will assure him the W.
“ I don’t know much about my opponent. I hear he is pretty good and I’m excited about that. I love fighting talented fighters. “
Since his layoff was for such a long time, Jay hopes to not only bring back the same intensity from his former fighting days, but to also bring a little more maturity to his game. He has been working on cleaning up his weaknesses and perfecting his strengths and feels that he is ready to test them August 27th.he has been honing his craft at Boss MMA as well as Hawaii International Kickboxing.
“ My strengths coming into this fight are my unpredictability. When I fought before I was always unpredictable and unorthodox. I never use the same style fight to fight. I always change it up. So my gameplan since I don’t know much about him, is to just stick to my strengths, give it my best and put on a good show. Hopefully I can get the win.”
As a very humble fighter, Carter says that though he doesn’t envision losing the fight, he knows that there are many possibilities and his vision of the fight is just going out and giving the best fight possible. Putting everything he has into the fight, and his opponent putting everything he has into the fight, and the best man walking away from Toughman Hawaii on August 27th with his hand raised.
