This weekends Toughman Hawaii event is being held at the Hilo Civic, and the fans and fighter are ready for action. As always, this fight card will feature knock down and drag out kickboxing matches that will showcase some of the best stand up skill in Hawaii. Two of the warriors that will be featured on the card are Richard Barnard and Louis Pauole. Each of these fighters packs a punch that can put their opponent down for the count.
Louis "The Hawaiian Dragon" Pauole trains at Penn Training and Fitness and feels that he has an edge coming into this fight with Richard.
"I think my aggressiveness is my strength. I'm going to use my angles and me very aggressive" said Pauole. " I feel really good. I'm in shape and I'm ready."
Pauole has fought the likes of Justin Wong and Kirk Wahyick, and feels that he is more than prepared for Barnard. His plan is to go out and make it a fight. "I am going to go in there and take him out of his game.
"It's gonna be a dog fight and I'm pulling out the victory."
Barnard also expects the fight to be a war.
"We're going to slug it out. I fought in Kona before and now I'm fighting in Hilo. I know they like action so we are going to put on a show."
Richard has been training with Team Up N Up and UKA and feels completely ready for battle. Though he is usually a 135er, this fight will be contested at 155 lbs.
"He already has me out of my element at 155. But it doesn't matter to me because I plan to fight smart. Smart is better than tough any day. I've been training 24/7 and I'm ready to go."
Barnard is known for his boxing ability and feels that his opponents hope for victory is futile.
"I plan on just fighting smart and working for the knockout. I think I will get the tko in the third round."
With both competitors ready to take the fight as far as it will go, this bout promises to have more than enough action. Not to mention the rest of the fights on the card! November 5th, Toughman Hawaii, Hilo Civic. . . Be there.
