January 21st will mark the day that two stars of MMA will collide. Hawaii's own, Kendall " Da Spyder" Grove will take on Ikuhisa "Minowaman" Minowa in the ProElite cage at Neil Blaisdell Arena and on HDNet.

The local MMA fans will undoubtibly be cheering for their resident UFC veteran, but Minowaman is quite the draw as well. The Japanese Journeyman has had over 100 professional MMA bouts against names such as Chris Lytle, Sokodju, Don Frye, Bob Sapp, Phil Baroni, Kimo Leopoldo, Gilbert Yvel, Wanderlei Silva, Cro Cop, Ricardo Almeida,Paulo Filho, Evan Tanner, and Kazushi Sakuraba. Minowa is truly somebody who has paid his dues. His bout with Kendall Grove will be contested at middleweight, which is surprising since he enters many fights as a Heavyweight, but the excitement is all the same no matter what division. Minowa has been one of the best showman in the sport in Japan for many years, and the love that the fans feel for him is proof of that. He brings a high level of intensity, a wealth of experience, and a tough challenge to the fight against Kendall Grove.

Kendall Grove is no beginner either. His rise to fame came when he took home The Ultimate Fighter Season 3 title along with a contract to the UFC. He competed amongst the highest competition while in the organization, racking up wins over fighters such as Ed Herman, Alan Belcher, Jason Day, Jake Rosholt, Goran Reljic, and Evan Tanner. "Da Spyder" most recently avenged his first career loss by taking out Joe "Diesle" Riggs in the first round of his ProElite debut.

Come January 21st one thing can be certain, both of these mixed martial artists are coming in and looking for the most exciting win they can achieve. Superstars from opposite sides of the ocean will collide and the fans get to enjoy it. Look for Minowa to work from his submission base, and look for Grove to go the KO.
