Hawaiian Fight Gear founder Andy Taam has been invovled in the local fight community for a long time. Some of you have met him at one of the MMA events or your local gym.  He is passionate about all aspects of mixed martial arts from Boxing to Muay Thai, Judo and BJJ. And for several years now, Hawaiian Fight Gear has supplied the states fighters with their own flavor of Hawaiian fight gear and fightwear that expresses the local personality and spirit in our fighting community. And now that Andy's children are growing into martial artists, he saw a need for something new in his business.TYGERBOLT_600

Much like their father, Tyger (age 5) and Boltyn (age 9), have a fascination with all martial arts. From wrestling to BJJ, and now Judo, Tyger and Boltyn are evolving right in front of their fathers eyes. But what is even more interesting is the fact that Andy is evolving right along with them. From being involved in every step of their journey, Andy is finding out things he had never known before and witnessing the growth of his two boys in ways he'd never imagined.

In Hawaii there is a strong presence of martial arts, and the younger generations are the ones who can benefit the most from the lessons learned in all martial arts. Discipline, respect, self control, and humility are all pieces in the growing process of every martial artist. But there is another hidden piece that many don't see. Equipment. . . .

As Andy and family grew in the Judo game, they noticed the need for something. Andy looked at his children who are now competing on a regular basis, and realized that they need something for their Judo tournaments that they can wear and call their own. Something that sets them apart and provides the quality that few others offer. This was when Andy began his search for the best way to bring the HFG Gi to the islands.

Andy had already been searching for years for the right way to bring the Gi's to HFG, but seeing the need for his children, and all youth in Hawaii, to have something designed specifically for them just fueled his fire to make the best Gi that he could. Finally he found a factory that makes, quite literally, the best Gi's in the world. Working with all of the biggest names in the business. A deal was struck!

After all of the searching and hard work it has finally paid off. At this weekends Big Boys Toys and MMA Hawaii Expo, Hawaiian Fight Gear will be unveiling their new line of Gi's. These top quality Koral cut Gi's offer Pearl Weave Tops and Ripstop Pants. After all, Hawaiian Fight Gear's slogan says it all, "Cause Only The Best Should Be In Your Corner".

Not only will the quality of the Gi's be top shelf, but there will obviously be a local flare that Hawaiian Fight Gear is known for. With accented patches and Hawaiian Flags, these Gi's are going to really stand out in performance as well as visuals.

"I really feel like it's a good mixture. I am starting with the Jiu-Jitsu Gi and then we are going to bring the Judo Gi later. We figured we would just take it one at a time for now. But I am working with the number one factory in the world that makes Gi's, bar none. It's time for us to get into the mix and put out some good products for the local players. Now when they go to National and World competitions, they can use Hawaii based Gi's."

So as the Expo approaches, be sure to prepare for the Gi designed in Hawaii, for Hawaii players. Check out the Hawaiian Fight Gear booth at the Big Boys Toys & MMA Hawaii Expo to get one of the first top quality Hawaii based Gi's from Hawaiian Fight Gear.

"If you want to have an exciting experience this weekend...check out the Big Boys Toys & MMA Hawaii Expo at the Blaisdell Convention Hall.
