For those who don't know, Keka Doi-Toilolo has been contributing to MMA for years. As the founding member of Team Makaha, Keka coached some of the most promising fighters on the west side. Tragically following complications with his kidneys, Keka has been on dialysis for three years now. As of August 2, 2012, he underwent his 10th surgery.

The procedures are done to make his dialysis possible, but as they continually fail his only hope appears to be a transplant.263584_1426686123653_1452838_n

Keka is so young, yet still deals with these issues on a daily basis in his life. Once a promising young fighter, now he's in and out of surgery. The transplant list that he has been added to will take nearly 7 years to cycle down to his name. The number of options has depleted down to two. His uncle on the mainland is a match for transplant and has agreed, but the money for the operation is too great. Or he can wait the 7 years for the transplant list.

There are several problems, however, with both scenarios.

1. With his most recent surgery being literally a last effort to aid in his dialysis, he cannot wait for the transplant list.

2. The cost of the procedure with his uncle who has agreed to donate, is much too high.

Keka needs our help. And he needs it now. Keka has been a part of our MMA family from the very start, and in his time of need I hope we can all rise to the occassion. He's a fighter down to his very core and he will battle his condition like nobody ever has before, which is exactly why he deserves our help.

Any and all donations are welcome.
