Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta share the spot of No. 41 of Sportsbusiness Journal's top 50 list of most influential people in sports. This comes only as a surprise because most assumed they would be higher on the list.

The duo made waves in 2011 by landing a landmark deal with the FOX networks and also by expanding a once banned business, into several overseas markets. The UFC is growing and MMA along with it. With Fertitta and White at the helm, many wonder just how high the sport will rise. Hopefully in next years edition, the two will be slightly more recognized for the magic they have worked on a sport that was once dying.

MMA in now mainstream and the SBJ at least entered two of the men responsible for it in their top 50. It is more giving and recognition than in previous years so the MMA community will call this a win. Fertitta and White secured their No. 41 slot directly in between NY Yankees Exec Hal Steinbrenner, and MLB Players Association Executive Director, Michael Weiner.
