Forrest Griffin: "This is the end of the road for me" E-mail
National MMA News

By: King Eddie

scaled.0205_web_UFC126.026_t653Yes, it's true. The wild one himself, Mr. Forrest Griffin has expressed a want to hang up the gloves after a couple more fights. The best selling author and father now has more layers to his life and as it would appear from his last few performances, just isn't that into it anymore.

In an interview with Fox Sports Radio 920 AM in Las Vegas, Griffin was asked if he finds it hard to get motivated for fights...

“I don’t know yet, I don’t think so,” Griffin said. “If anything for me now I’m realizing I don’t have much left. This is the end of the road for me. I want a couple more you know fight fights, like good ones, you know. That’s all I really want. … Fights where I don’t get knocked out in the first round. Fights where like I get hurt, bleed a little, but I kind of like rally, you know, something of that nature.”

However, though he says this now, we all know how it goes with fighters. They retire, they come back, they say they may hang up the gloves, then they have 10 more fights. Only time will tell. So as we anxiously await, let us hope that if his next few fights are his last, that they are barn burners.
