In recent months, the UFC has had it's fill of Fight Cards falling apart. Well, looks like they are going to have to bite their lip and power through another, because there are 3 confirmed and a 4th suspected fights to drop via injury.
First off of the card was Siyar Bahadurzada, who was scheduled to face Bazil's Erick Silva who is riding a 9 fight win streak. Now it is unclear who the Brazilian will face.
The next fighter to pull out was Heavyweight, Rob Broughton. The bout was against Ednaldo Oliveira who is making his UFC debut. The Brazilian Heavyweight is riding a 13-0-1 record with 8 of the 13 coming via KO. Oliveira went 5-0 in 2011, and now anxiously awaits the late replacement of his first UFC opponent.
Stanislav Nedkov, who was supposed to meet Fabio Maldonado, was the third to be officially removed from the card due to injury. Maldonado made his UFC debut slightly over a year ago when with a cool KO of James McSweeney. He then rode an 11 fight win streak before dropping a decision to Kyle Kingsbury.
The NOW fourth bout to be removed from the Rio card is that of Paulo Thiago. Thiago has made lots of waves in the UFC with his KO of Josh Koscheck, along with his win over Mike Swick. Thiago has also put on some exciting fights with Diego Sanchez, Jon Fitch, and Martin Kampmann. He was set to face Mike Pyle, who is coming off of a loss to the hot prospect known as Rory MacDonald. Pyle is known for his wins against Ricardo Almeida, Jon Hathaway, and Jesse Lennox.
With the shake up to the fight card, the UFC is in scramble mode. Here is the bout list as it sits now.
