Ludwig Finally Awarded UFC's Fastest KO E-mail
National MMA News

By: King Eddie

duane_ludwig_gets_christmasDana White, as a Christmas present to Duane "Bang" Ludwig, sent him a text assuring him that he will have the UFC's fastest KO record.

Officially, Todd Duffe has the UFC's record according to the Nevada State Athletic Commision at 7 seconds, and that record was tied by Chang Sung Jung in his KO of Mark Hominick at UFC 140. But in a bout that took place in January of 2006, Ludwig sent Jonathan Goulet crashing to the canvas with the first exchange of the fight at 4 seconds. The official time was taken at 11 seconds.

NASC timekeeper at the time, and now Director, Keith Kizer, said that he actually clocked it at 8 seconds. Dana White thinks that is a load of poop. When told of the ruling against officially overturning the time, White had this to say. . .

"Sounds like them.We reviewed it, and it's correct. 'Bang' has the fastest knockout. It's funny. The state athletic commissions are in place to look out for the fighters, but it seems like I'm always the one making sure they don't get [expletive]."

Though it is still unofficial by the commisions stance, the UFC is recognizing Band as the fastest KO record holder for the promotion. His over 7,000 facebook supporters will be happy to hear. Congrats to Duane Bang Ludwig and Grudge Training Center in Colorado for the title of fastest KO in the UFC.
