KJ Noons, riding a decision win over Billy Evangelista, has verbally agreed to face former Strikeforce Lightweight Champ, Josh Thomson. The two will clash in the cage at Strikeforce: Barnett vs Cormier in March.
It has been a bumpy road recently for the former EliteXC Champion, but KJ snapped his losing skid and is back onto his winning ways. Thomson has yet to fight since his loss to Kawajiri at DREAM Dynamite 2010. Both are explosive lightweights and this fight could in fact determine who is next in line for a title shot, or at least one away from a shot.
KJ has been known as one of the most crisp boxers in the game ever since his run in EliteXC, now he will have to prove it. Thomson is well rounded, and has his sights set on getting back to Gilbert Melendez for yet another exciting fight between the two. But with the state of strikeforce, the public will have to just wait and see.
