Dominick Cruz has been pulled from his bout with Urijah Faber at UFC 148. The apparent injury is a suspected torn ACL. It is unclear at the present time exactly how this happened, but UFC president, Dana White, announced the injury today via Twitter. He also made it clear to "stay tuned" for more information. Assuming that the TUF Live show is what he is referencing, the viewing numbers for the next episode should be through the roof.

The new headlining bout will be Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen II. Though this fight was already moved to the head of the 148 card for logistical reasons, it takes a little of the sting off of the Cruz vs Faber fight drop. White is unclear right now as to what the coarse of action should be as for the Interim title. It is a possibility that with an injury such as and ACL tear, Faber may face an opponent for the Interim. That opponent would likely be Renan Barao, who is already scheduled to face Ivan Menjivar on the same card, for the number one contender position.
