As we previously predicted here at MMA Hawaii, Renan Barao will be facing Urijah Faber for the interim Bantamweight title at UFC 148.

After an ACL injury forced Cruz out of his rubber match with Faber, the search for a new opponent began. Considering the amount of time it takes to heal from this injury, the UFC felt it fitting to creat an Interim Title. But though they made it seem as if they were searching high and low, this reporter thinks that Renan Barao was the choice throughout.

With a fight already booked on the same night, and with a huge hype train behind him, Barao was the clear choice for this opportunity.
