Diaz On Bench One Year Following NSAC Hearing E-mail
National MMA News

By: King Eddie010_UFC_143_Diaz_large

Yesterday was a day of frustration for Nick Diaz, a man who hates most interactions. He met with the Nevada State Athletic Commission concerning his failed drug test following his bout with Carlos Condit. Diaz was popped for having maijuana metabolites in his urine. The fighter told the commission that he uses marijuana for therapeutic purposes, but they called to attention that on his application for a license, he did not list any prescription drugs, nor did he apply for an exemption.

Though Diaz's honesty was amazing, his deception of the commission from his last hearing on the topic seemed to seal the deal for him. 5 years ago, he sat in the same seat and stated that he would never do it again. Alas, he failed in his attempt to never sit in front of the commission for the same topic, and Keith Kizer seemed none to happy about the deception.

His suspension will be one year, and he will be fined. Diaz must also provide a clean drug test in order to get his next license to fight in the state of Nevada. Looks like it will be a while before we see Mr. Diaz in the cage, if he comes out of retirement.
