Hawaii's Clarissa Chun, 1998 Hawaii State Wrestling Champ, scored the first win for the USA in their defeat of Azerbaijan in Women's World Cup of Wrestling.
Winning the Pan American Olympic Qualifier for Chun is just another step towards her overall goal. As a strong link in the chain for the US Women's Wrestling team, this is a place she has been before. Competing on the Olympic team in 2008 and also winning a world title, Chun has an already impressive reume, and she looks to extend her list of achievements.
Clarissa got the first win for the US against Anzhela Dorogan, 8-0, 6-0. She dominated with technical excellence and by wrestling her match. With a cool head and a calm demeanor, Chun scored this key victory.
"Got the W against Azerbaijan today. Learned a lot from this World Cup. Knowledge is nothing w/o execution. Gotta get battle ready n 10 weeks" - Clarissa Chun via Twitter
