Alistair Overeem, who is serving a suspension from the NSAC, says he will be back in December and that he is looking for the title belt.
After he registered a 14-to-1 T/E ratio prior to his scheduled bout with Heavyweight Champ, Junior Dos Santos, Alistair Overeem was pulled from the fight card and suspended for 9 months. The entire situation was one of the most reported in the entire MMA vs TRT season. In the same time frame, numerous fighters were either popped for or admitted to using TRT, which increases Testosterone levels. But now with the initial drama behind him, and well into his suspension, Overeem can begin to enter the spotlight again, promoting his return.
"I'll be fighting again in December, and mark my words, I'll be back to get the belt sooner rather (than) later," he stated.
Though Overeem has been on a remarkable win streak, his suspension may run interference with his title hopes. But there is no doubt that the UFC heavyweight division holds enough talent to ensure his next fight will be an exciting one. And it is in this reporters opinion that soon after his return, it won't be very hard for fans to get behind him again and build a case for a title shot.
