Tyson Nam began his MMA career here on the islands and has gone on to do some pretty impressive things. Most recently he has accumulated three straight wins, with two being by TKO in under a minute each.
Nam was a regular on the ICON Sport circuit early in his career, and even fought here in Hawaii as recently as 2010. And has seen much success in his career outside of the islands. Scoring wins in organizations such as EliteXC, King Of The Cage, and Sportfight, Nam is a known striker whoh hands out KO's like candy. And in his next bout, he will be looking to do much of the same.
Nam will be taking on Eduardo Dantas at Shooto Brazil 33. The event will be taking place in Rio De Janeiro on August 25. And though it may not be a globally televised event, word has spread all around the MMA community of this amazing venture for the local fighter.
His opponent, Dantas, boasts a 14-2 record and is the current Bellator Bantamweight Champion. Dantas defeated Wilson Reis, Ed West, and Alexis Vila in the Bellator Bantamweight Tournament in order to challenge Zack Makovsky for the title in which he won the bout via Arm Triangle in the second round. His only losses have come via decision and DQ. Nam will look to hand him the first KO loss of his career.
Should Nam get the victory in this scrap, it will position him very highly in the rankings of the division.
