After UFC Cut, Miguel Torres Lands In Titan Fighting Championships E-mail
National MMA News

By: King Eddie

torresFormer WEC Bantamweight Champion, Miguel Torres, has been released by the UFC. But the silver lining for the once supposed pound for pound top fighter, a deal immediately came through with Titan Fighting Championships.

After a lackluster 2-2 run with the UFC, Torres will make his TFC debut on November 2. He announced the news on his website on Tuesday.

"I am writing this letter to inform you that as a result of my last loss, I was cut from the UFC," Torres stated on his site. "My next fight will be in Hammond, Indiana for Titan Fighting Championship on November the 2nd."

"I am excited to continue fighting, to regain my focus and to get back to what made me a champion."

Titan Fighting Championships CEO, Joe Kelly, immediately pounced on Torres once hearing of his release.

"We just found out he was released from the UFC and I acted pretty quickly," Kelly said. "As soon as I heard he was available, I went after him and we solidified the deal. It's been pretty quick."

The November 2 event will take place in Hammond, Indiana. A large majority of Torres' 30 fights took place in that region. So this will serve as somewhat of a homecoming for the former champ.
