Browne To Beast Bigfoot This Friday E-mail
National MMA News

By: King Eddie

travsibrowne_mmahawaiiTasting Main Event status for the first time, Hawaii's own, Travis "Hapa" Browne, is likely savoring the flavor. The Heavyweight half Hawaiian will be taking on Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva in the headlining bout at UFC on FX 5 this Friday night.

Browne has been dominant in the UFC's Heavyweight Division, with his only blemish being a draw with Cheick Kongo. From ground and pound, to flying knees, to superman punches, Hawaii's big boy has a big bag of tricks that he is looking to unleash on Silva on Friday night. Coming seemingly out of nowhere, Browne has continually improved his game, and his likability with each exciting performance. A victory in this bout may move him on to the highest level of UFC Heavyweight competition, and possibly in the mix for the title.

Silva has been known ever since his EliteXC days for being a big man with a big chin. He toppled the legendary Fedor Emelianenko in a Strikeforce bout, but failed to take out Cain Velazquez in his UFC debut. Even with the loss, Silva is widely considered to be one of the best in the division due to his size and ability to control his opponents. His UFC career may be on the line this weekend though, because Travis Browne is no easy task. And a loss here may remove him from the UFC roster completely.

No matter what the outcome, it can be certain that this will be a fight. Browne is known for his exciting style, especially to be a heavyweight, and Silva is a freak of nature, that people love to watch. No matter how it all shakes down, it will be exciting.

Good luck to our own Travis Browne. Hawaii supports you 100%
