Hawaii's own, Kendall Grove, is at it yet again. This will mark the third fight within a months time for the Maui native who has been on one hell of a tear as of late. Most recently, Grove defeated notable Big Island talent, Chis Cisneros, in a bout that had all of the islands talking. Only 6 days previous to that bout, Grove won a fight in Canada via TKO.
And now, with only a short window of rest, Grove is now standing in Warsaw, Poland, preparing to meet the best Middleweight that the country has to offer. Mamed Khalidov, Grove's opponent, has an impressive record. At 24-4 he has toppled some well known fighters such as Matt Lindland, James Irvin, Jesse Taylor, and Jorge Santiago. But Grove has quite the impressive record as well, and coming into this fight feels no worry for his continuing win streak.
Feeling the freedom to fight when and where he wants, Grove is a redesigned fighter. Already a father, now expecting twins in February, he certainly does have enough motivation. But more than anything, he credits the undying support of his wife for much of his success.
In the infamous words of Kendall Grove... "I'm a fighter. That's what I do, I fight. I don't back down, turn down, or run away from anybody at any time. I'm a fighter so I fight."
The bout against Khalidov will take place on the KSW 21 fight card tomorrow. Stay tuned here to MMAhawaii.com for any updates as they arise.
